Print Optimization is the idea of optimizing total print spend by identifying all the sources of printing within an organization, quantifying the total and individual spend of each, and identifying  opportunities to reduce costs. This webinar will help procurement professionals to understand the different print procurement silos that exist within their organization such as 1) the fleet of printers and copiers; 2) the internal or in-plant print facility; 3) P cards; and 4) departments that make large print purchases, and what strategies they can use to save money in each.  Being able to recognize print silos and identify potential synergies can result in significant cost savings for a school.

 

During this webinar we will explore the different ways that higher ed procurement professionals can help identify and save money for their institutions such as: 1) Bringing higher cost, outsourced print work back to the in-plant print facility 2) Shifting pages from the higher cost fleet to the in-plant print facility 3) Devising strategies to overcome financial losses incurred by the in-plant as more page volumes shift to the fleet.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify different print procurement silos, quantify the total print spend and spend of each, and understand how to create a common metric to analyze different options
  • Understand rules of thumb to identify when print should be done by each silo, and how to perform an in-depth analysis to determine when to outsource more, or invest in more internal equipment
  • Identify tools to help monitor and automatically reroute print requests
