Procurement within an institutional setting is unique. To ensure that procurement professionals can perform successfully and help prepare institutions for the future, we offer the NAEP Procurement Academy. Delivered in three Tiers for entry-level to advanced professionals, the NAEP Procurement Academy is a competency-based certificate program that provides best practices, insider intelligence and market knowledge needed to advance your career.

Registration is open. Choose the tier best for your current career. Each tier provides 20 hours of continuing education credit hours for 2 and 1/2 days of learning.


Agenda

Your procurement team will receive a tangible and measurable return on investment by attending the NAEP Procurement Academy. The Academy teaches the knowledge, the skills, and the abilities you need to manage your career path in higher education procurement. This competency-based certificate course is mapped to core areas of procurement excellence.

Tier I
If you are just beginning your procurement path, register for Tier I where you will focus on Ethical Practice, Effective Performance, and Communication. Click here for the

Tier I examines fundamental purchasing skills, techniques and practices, the acquisition cycle, ethics in professional relationships, legal aspects of the procurement process, customer relationships and social responsibility.

A leadership assessment is included with registration (valued at $100 per person). Using the DiSC® Work of Leaders assessment, you will discuss the eight (8) priorities of the Leadership Map and your own Leadership Style. With the assessment, you will explore emotional intelligence, conflict management, individual style dimensions, expectations, team dimensions, resiliency, and change management. and have an opportunity for one-on-one communication coaching.

Other sessions include: decision-making, cultural competency and conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, legal procurement, and supply chain management.

Hotel Information

NAEP has secured a discounted room rate of $169 per night plus applicable taxes.

How to get to and from the airport

The hotel has an Airport Shuttle and it is complimentary and available for airport pick-ups 24/7. To request pick-up from the airport, please call the front desk at 480-967-1441 or by using the courtesy phone in baggage claim.  Please retrieve any baggage before calling the hotel for shuttle pick-up.  You will be instructed as to where to find the shuttle, and will be given an approximate pick-up time.

The shuttle is also available to guests for use within a 3-mile radius of the hotel.  This area includes several shopping, dining, and entertainment areas.  Please keep in mind that this service is not guaranteed, and airport pick-ups will always be prioritized over local shuttle use.  The front desk would be happy to arrange taxi service for guests at the guest’s expense if the shuttle is unavailable.

Renting a car? Directions from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

Take the 202 East exit to Priest Drive, where the airport exit merges with the 202 Highway. Turn right (South) at Priest Drive, and drive two miles to Broadway Road. The Doubletree by Hilton Phoenix - Tempe is located on the southwest corner of Priest and Broadway. The entrance is on your right, after the intersection.
