I hope you are enjoying the very beginning of summer. Before some of us go on vacation, I wanted to update you on the search process. The search committee has finalized the job description and job announcement. As part of this process, we have decided to change the job title to Executive Director. The Executive Director title is common in non-profits, especially similar in size to NAEP. The role will continue to be the highest position within the association.
Thank you to all that are on the search committee and our two advisory groups. There has been a tremendous amount of input and I believe the collaboration of this diverse team yielded a robust job description. Before I head out for vacation with the family I wanted to update you on a few important NAEP items.
NAEP Executive Director Search
As of this week, our search firm, Spelman Johnson has started recruiting! You can view the position announcement on their website at NAEP Executive Director Search. Please share the information with your professional networks and let us know if you have nominations for the position. You can contact our search consultant Mark Hall with questions and nominations at firstname.lastname@example.org or 803-708-0038.
Mark will review all applications and send materials for the most highly-qualified candidates to the search committee for consideration. The committee will select a group of semifinalists and conduct first-round interviews towards the end of August. The goal will be to have office interviews for finalists in September with members of the board. Let us know if you have any questions!!
Also, I will be at NACUBO representing NAEP in Long Beach with your past President, Rosey Murton and another Past President, Sandy Hicks. If you or your business officer are attending be sure to come to our session on Sunday, July 22nd titled: Are You Getting Full Value from Your Procurement Office? NACUBO has also invited NAEP to do a webinar on procurement; the webinar is scheduled for September 12th! This is a great opportunity to engage with your CBO and ask them to register! NAEP/NACUBO Webinar: Leveraging the Procurement Function as a Key Tool to Advance Mission and Goals--How Do We Get There.
NAEP Academy and RFP/Negotiation Institutes: August 6-9th in Baltimore
Finally, our academies and institutes are open for registration. I will have the pleasure of teaching in the Tier 3 Academy and the Negotiation Institute. I look forward to meeting and chatting with all attendees!
In other news, our regional leadership is ramping up for their regional meetings. Be sure to register! I am excited to attend the District VI meeting which starts on Sunday, September 30th on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA! I look forward to seeing many of you there along with our valued business partners.
