Privacy and Best Practices to Protect Your Personal Data
Wednesday, May 9, 2018
Here at NAEP we strive to protect your information and are moving towards full GDPR compliance. The General Data Protection Regulation is a European standard for personal data protection which many organizations are adopting (regardless of whether or not they serve European clients or staff).
As an NAEP member, information on your member profile, or that you post on the National Exchange, is not visible on the public internet and only visible to other members who are signed into the website. At NAEP we do not solicit your personal information, as only your business address, business phone, and business email are visible to other members who search for your profile. Members may access and update their profile at any time.
Regional members should be aware that the regional websites are public. This means that information and documents which your regional web administrator uploads to the regional website could be accessible through the public internet. If desired, regional admins may upload documents via the provided file library and choose to make the documents private, in which case they would only be visible to NAEP members. (Regional admins may contact Mark Polakow for further information on this.)
NAEP strongly encourages all members to never post or make available in documents, any personal information which may include: cell phone numbers, physical addresses, social media, personal email addresses etc.
Finally, if you ever see any information on the NAEP website or regional websites that you do not wish to be displayed and are unable to remove it for any reason, please contact us immediately and we will remove it right away.
