Announcement on NAEP CEO Search Process

Dear Valued Members, Sponsors, Business Partners and Staff,
As a follow up to our communication on Wednesday (Board President message), I will be transitioning into the role of Chair of the NAEP CEO Search Committee. I am honored to serve in this role and believe leading the process of selecting our next leader is a very significant responsibility. I want to extend my thanks to Past President Kelly Kozisek for coordinating the initial search activities and being available to me as an advisor through the rest of her term.
The NAEP Board of Directors believe that this process should be as transparent and inclusive as possible. As such, we have drafted a document that explains how we will conduct the search, how we will include representative stakeholders and how we can solicit your collective feedback at important parts of the process. Here is a brief summation of the process:
· Survey/Submission of Interest Form:

I encourage all of you to fill this out. We are trying to get your feedback in two areas: 1.) The skillsets you believe to be important in our next leader and 2.) a submission of interest to participate formally in the process. This survey will be open until end of day February 4th.
· Search Structure:
We will end up with a search committee comprised of no more than nine representative stakeholders and four advisory groups that can contribute to the process. While the committee will be comprised of various stakeholders, only members of NAEP will be voting members. For example, sponsors/business partners can participate, but will not have a formal vote. Even if you are not a part of one of these committees or advisory groups, we plan to have the finalist(s) present to our membership via a webinar with a Q&A session. We will collect feedback after the process and this feedback will be considered as the board votes on an appointment.
· Timeline and Communication:
Our draft timeline has the process concluding by August. We want to be sure to indicate that this is a draft timeline and we will take the time necessary to ensure the right fit. We will communicate regularly throughout the process either through email or through your regional representatives to let you know where things stand.
