We have been live in both systems for several years, but chose at the time of implementations not to add commodity codes, mainly due to the time constraints and limited staff resources associated with the projects. However, we are now being asked to go back and add them to both systems. We are looking for guidance from someone who has already been thru the process, and can help us avoid any time consuming or costly mistakes that could hinder order processing.

The results of a close election ballot find Jennifer Adling, Procurement Director at Texas Tech University, as our new Secretary for the 2016-2017 operational year. Please join me in congratulating Jennifer!

Honorable mention goes to Elaine Chew, Director of Support Services / Central Services / Hub Program at Tarleton State University. She ran as Jennifer's opponent. The voting was extremely close, demonstrating the strength of each candidate.

In other news, the TOAL voting membership approved by a wide margin selected amendments to the region's bylaws. The amendments were substantially technical in nature and posed no controversy within the organization. The region now gets ready for its annual meeting in San Marcos, TX starting September 25.
