Passing of Eddie Jackson
NAEP has received word that Eddie Jackson has passed away recently.
Over the years, he was a very active member and volunteer. Before retiring in 2006, Eddie worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) serving as a Buyer then Associate Director of Small Business Procurement. For several years, Eddie helped take photos during the NAEP Annual Meeting.
Eddie was very active with NAEP. His LinkedIn page includes this information from his bio:
"During this period I was active in the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) serving as President of the Upstate New York Region, chair of NAEP's 75th Anniversary and served a term on NAEP's Board. Co-founded NAEP's Supplier Diversity Institute (SDI), Awarded the Supplier Diversity Advocate of the Year Award from the Upstate NY Regional Minority Purchasing Council, and was the recipient of NAEP's Neil D. Markee Communicator of the Year Award, Distinguished Service Award, and finally the Bert C. Ahren Achievement Award, NAEP's highest form of recognition."
