The goal of the NAEP Mentorship Program is to provide knowledgeable resource/guidance to those who are new to the educational procurement profession.
 

Mentorship Program

With more and more Members new to higher education procurement, the Membership and Professional Development Committees are collaborating to create a mentoring program that can be offered regionally and nationally. The mentorship program is expected to be introduced in 2017.

The mentorship program is based upon NAEP's Competency Model.

 

NAEP Competency Model

NAEP Competency Model – Competencies are the skills, behaviors, and attitudes that when aligned with organizational goals lead to high performance. NAEP’s Competency Model is specific to procurement professionals.

Members can use the model for workforce planning, as they develop and update job descriptions, interview candidates for positions, create professional development plans and manage performance. The competencies are also mapped to NAEP’s Procurement Academy.
