NAEP CEO Search Committee Update

Thursday, March 15, 2018   (0 Comments)

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Association, we would like to provide an update on the formulation of NAEP’s CEO Search Committee. We received strong response to the survey, and we are greatly appreciative of everyone who took the time to provide feedback and all who have volunteered to be part of the process. It was truly impressive to see how devoted our membership is to advancing our Association into the future. In order to maximize the diversity of the search team, the following individuals have been selected to serve as representatives:

  1. Nichol Luoma, Chair
  2. Melanie Freeman, Staff Representative
  3. Kelsey Finn, NACAS Business Partner Representative (Non-Voting)
  4. Ray Hsu (District 6, District Board Appointee, Northwest region)
  5. Carol Barnhill (District 5, Past President, TOAL region)
  6. Valerie Rhodes Sorrelle (District 4, Past President, Michigan region)
  7. Tom Youngs (District 2, DE/PA/WV region)
  8. Mary Dukakis (District 1, New England region)
  9. Meaghan Kraft (District 1, Upstate New York region, Regional Leader)
  10. Tonia Lawson (District 3, Florida region, Community College)
  11. Greg Macway (District 6 Pacific region, Regional Leader)
  12. Jennifer Adling (District 5, TOAL region, Regional Leader)

Strategic Opportunity Consultants (Non-Voting): Ted Johnson (District 6, University of California, San Diego, Pacific region and Tom Fitzgerald (Business Partner, E&I)

As you may note, we have made some changes to the composition of the search team based on survey feedback and responses from members. We have added three new seats to expand the input from regional leadership, given the critical nature of regional participation. We have also converted the Sponsor seat back to a Membership seat based on the survey results. An additional augmentation was made to add two strategic non-voting consulting roles – which will assist the Association during the search process to capture strategic opportunities, particularly with new membership and sponsorship expansion that arise during this process and develop framework for the new CEO to consider as he/she assumes their leadership role for NAEP. We have updated the search process documents on the website to reflect these changes. The information can be found here.

In addition to the Search Team, many colleagues have generously volunteered their time on Advisory Groups. Based on the responses we received, we have formulated two Advisory Groups:Past Board/Regional Leadership and General Membership. Attached is a list of the members who have volunteered to assist on the Advisory Groups.
