New NAEP Board Members Prepare to Take Office!

Kelly Kozisek, Oregon State University,

Elected President of National Association of Educational Procurement

June 8, 2016, Columbia, Maryland —The National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), the nationwide organization focused exclusively on procurement in higher education, has announced the election of Kelly Kozisek, CPPB, CPPO,  Chief Procurement Officer at Oregon State University, to the office of  NAEP Board President. She took office on May 25, 2016 at a ceremony held during the Association’s 95th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

Currently the department head for Procurement, Contracts and Materials Management, Ms. Kozisek has 28 years of experience in higher education procurement.  Her volunteer work for NAEP includes service as chair of their 2016 Annual Meeting program committee and workshop presenter at the Association’s regional and annual meetings.  She received her B.S. in Business Administration at Western Oregon University. 



Nichol Luoma, Arizona State University,

Elected 2nd Vice President of National Association of Educational Procurement

May 16, 2016, Columbia, Maryland —The National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), the nationwide organization focused exclusively on procurement in higher education, has announced the election of Nichol Luoma of Arizona State University to the office of 2nd Vice President. She will take office at a ceremony to be held during the Association’s 95th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, May 22-25.

Ms. Luoma is Associate Vice President of University Business Services, Sustainability Officer and Chief Procurement Officer at Arizona State University (ASU). Under Ms. Luoma’s leadership, ASU procurement was recognized by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's Sustainable Campus index as No. 1 in the purchasing category.

An active NAEP member, Ms. Luoma has served as Pacific Region President, on the Program Committee 2014/2015, on the Faculty for Professional Development, as a participant in the annual Innovator’s Forum, and contributes articles to the NAEP Educational Procurement Journal. Before joining ASU in 2012, Ms. Luoma was vice president of operations in two private sector companies, served in multiple business and supply chain roles at Intel Corporation, and was a senior business-consultant at Clarkston Consulting.

Ms. Luoma graduated from ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business and Barrett, The Honors College, with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management. She received her MBA from Duke University, where she was honored as a Fuqua Scholar. 

 


 

Elizabeth Moss, Howard Community College

Elected to Board of National Association of Educational Procurement

June 9, 2016. Columbia, Maryland —The National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), the nationwide organization focused exclusively on procurement in higher education, has announced the election of Elizabeth Moss, Esq., CPPO, to its Board of Directors. She took office on May 25, 2016 at a ceremony held during the Association’s 95th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Ms. Moss, Director of Procurement at Howard Community College, will serve as board member representing NAEP District II, comprised of Metro New York/New Jersey, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Ms. Moss joined Howard Community College in 2009, and has 16 years of experience in procurement and law.

 


  

Karen Harthorn, University of St. Thomas,

Elected to Board of National Association of Educational Procurement

June 8, 2016, Columbia, Maryland —The National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP), the nationwide organization focused exclusively on procurement in higher education, has announced the election of Karen Harthorn, Associate Vice President for Procurement and Risk Management at the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis, Minnesota, to its Board of Directors.  As board member, she will represent NAEP District V. Ms. Harthorn took office on May 25, 2016 at a ceremony held during the Association’s 95th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
