'Spendmetric' Development News
Tuesday, December 8, 2015
Dear NAEP Members,
Those of you that have attended the recent NAEP regional conferences may have already heard about the program we have launched jointly with the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and Spikes Cavell called “spendmetric – Higher Education”. I believe strongly in this program and partnership and wanted to take the opportunity to make certain that all members are aware of this new initiative. Please click here to view a description of the program and its objectives.
We have been taking a number of actions over the last few months to move the program forward. spendmetric was first vetted by a group of 6 higher education procurement and business officers. The first version of the service was demonstrated at the NACUBO national conference in July. NAEP, NACUBO and Spikes Cavell signed a memorandum of understanding for spendmetric in late August and we are now pressing forward with introducing the program through presentations at many of the NAEP and NACUBO conferences. Spikes Cavell is also calling university procurement and business officers to introduce the program and steering committee opportunities.
We and NACUBO chose to work with Spikes Cavell because of its wealth of experience in data transformation and spend analytics for higher education institutions. They have transformed the data of 67 higher education institutions in the United States, over 200 worldwide, are currently working with over 250 public and private organizations, and have transformed over $700b of expenditure data for these organizations. The data already processed by Spikes Cavell will be combined with data from new spendmetric participants for the benefit of the participating member, and the benefit of the higher education community as a whole. A series of whitepapers and other information will be available to all members, regardless of whether or not they participate directly and contribute their data to the program.
Please watch for updates about this program as it expands. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Best Regards, Doreen Murner
