Russell Chung is the director of The Ohio State University Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, eProcurement and Vendor Management. As the highest ranked public university in Ohio, The Ohio State University supports teaching, research, and service on issues that concern the state and the world. Since 2012, Mr. Chung has significantly reduced the number of suppliers and increased eProcurement transactions at OSU to optimize cost savings as well as compliance and visibility into purchasing.
Prior to The Ohio State University, Mr. Chung held positions in global purchasing at The Kohler Company and Delphi Automotive Systems, North America and Asia.
Daniel L. Smith, General Manager Worldwide Education, Amazon Business
Daniel L. Smith is General Manager, Worldwide Education at Amazon Business. Amazon Business helps governments, education organizations, and companies purchase using the Amazon.com experience with additional controls, methods of payments, data and analytics, eProcurement system integrations, and unique selection and pricing they require. Mr. Smith oversees all aspects of Amazon Business for Education, including strategy, product development, engineering, and customers. He joined Amazon in 2014 with the Kindle division.
Prior to Amazon, Mr. Smith held various global executive positions at Perot Systems and Dell. He formed Dell’s 400-person, $300mm vertical cloud computing business in 18 months, focused on Public Sector and Financial Services industries. Previously, he was based in London and Abu Dhabi as Sr. Director, Emerging Markets, bringing Healthcare IT solutions to some of the most disadvantaged and high-potential populations in Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
